Managing Director

Mr. Perkins holds a Bachelor of Arts degree (psychology) from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration degree (accounting concentration) from the University of Notre Dame. He has completed post-graduate coursework in business valuation and business brokerage through the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA) and the Institute of Business Appraisers (IBA). He completed the Mergers and Acquisitions executive education course at The Wharton School (University of Pennsylvania), and he’s a Registered Investment Advisor (RIA).

Since 1997 Mr. Perkins has consulted full time on the purchase and sale of private companies. His firm, Acquisition Advisors, focuses on transactions valued between $10 million and $100 million. Perkins’ early career included commercial real estate brokerage, commercial banking, and a brief stint as the senior financial officer for a software company.

J. Duff Weddle

Director

Duff is a graduate of the University of Oklahoma, (B.B.A.) and the University of Texas School of Law, (J.D.), and attended the Advanced Management Program at the Harvard Business School. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a registered Attorney.

Duff has over 20 years active experience in Mergers and Acquisitions, business and corporate development, as well as structuring strategic deals and alliances as a corporate lawyer. He has personally owned, bought and sold five companies, designing an exit plan that resulted in asset sales from $5 million to $90 million per company. He has worked as a professional on M&A transactions ranging from $10 million to $450 million and has been an advisor in startups and new ventures, raised equity capital, secured institutional funding and project financing. Duff’s industry experience spans manufacturing, distribution, energy, petrochemicals, engineering, staffing, construction and transportation.

Stephanie is responsible for the advertising and marketing of the books, newsletters and other products and services of DL Perkins. A graduate of the University of Tulsa with a degree in psychology, she also earned an MBA from St John’s University in New York.

With over ten years’ experience in space, broadcast, direct mail and online marketing, Stephanie has a thorough understanding of web design principles, best online practices and multi-channel strategies to maximize impact. She has worked for such major marketers as Lillian Vernon, a 56-year-old catalog and online marketer; Hachette Fillipacchi Media, publishers of Woman’s Day, Elle, Road & Track and other magazines; and Value Line, publishers of investment guides. A high-energy marketer, Stephanie has a proven track record of creating an effective online presence.

Blayne Frieden is an experienced businessman, entrepreneur and investor. He has formed, funded, acquired, restructured and sold businesses in the advertising, staffing, healthcare and entertainment industries. Two of his firms have been listed in the Inc. 500.

Mr. Frieden was a client of Acquisition Advisors, on two occasions, prior to his joining the firm. Blayne holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University. His primary function at Acquisition Advisors is to locate, evaluate and recommend prospective buy and sell-side clients.

Richard B. Weiss, ASA
Appraisal Services
Richard is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA) in Business Valuation through the American Society of Appraisers (ASA) and is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington (finance and accounting). He’s conducted valuations of companies ranging from multinational conglomerates to small businesses in connection with mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructurings, recapitalizations, ESOPs, gift and estate tax compliance, intangible asset valuations for purchase price allocation and goodwill impairment tests, employee stock option valuations for financial reporting compliance, and valuation for marital dissolutions. Industry experience spans manufacturing, wholesale/distribution, retail, banking, pharmaceutical, oil and gas, automotive, mining, electric utilities, petrochemical, chemical, information technology, software, insurance, engineering and architectural services, transportation, real estate, construction, health care, consulting and leisure.

Previously, Mr. Weiss was a principal and group manager in the Financial Advisory Services department of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. He is a member of ESOP association, National Center for Employee Ownership (NCEO), American Society of Appraisers and CFA Institute.
